
Milton Menace fans cheer the team on during 2019-2020 season
The Milton Menace broke even over the weekend after playing two games.
The weekend started on Friday, December 9th when the Menace took on the Oakville Blades at the Milton Memorial Arena. The game started in the negative for Milton, as the Blades scored twice in the first seven minutes of action. Thankfully, Nicholas Wereha would get one back for the good guys. His powerplay goal at the 14:45 mark was assisted by Bradley Banach and Cole Semeniuk. 40-seconds later, Milton star-player Aidan Hughes tied the game, with help from Ivan Fabjan and Justin O’Donnell. It was 2-2 after one period.
In the second period, Jared Coccimiglio potted a powerplay goal for Milton. It was assisted by Hughes and Aidan Puley. The period would end 3-2 for Milton.
The third period was scoreless, giving the Menace the tight 3-2 win.
In net, Forbes Anderson stopped 25 of 27 shots, giving him a .925% save percentage and the W.
Moving to the Westwood Arena in Etobicoke, the Menace faced the Toronto Patriots on Saturday, December 10th.
The first period was just about the only positive for Milton this game. Justin O’Donnell opened the scoring at the 1:13 mark. It was assisted by Aidan Hughes. The Patriots then tied the game, with Milton taking the lead once again with just 10-seconds left in the frame. Myles Perry scored the goal, Connor Driscoll and Alessandro Petreccia got the assists. It was 2-1 Milton after one.
The Pats then tied the game in the second, making it 2-2 after two periods.
Toronto then scored four more unanswered goals, including an empty netter, to get the 6-2 win over Milton.
Will Goumas was in net for the Menace. He stopped 28 of 33 shots, giving him a .848% save percentage.
The Menace are 20-8-1-2 over 31 games. They have 43 points on the season, putting them in third place in the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) North/West Conference.
Milton will have two more days off before they take on the Georgetown Raiders on Wednesday, December 14th.
