Health Canada is warning residents of a blender/juicer that has been recalled due to being an injury hazard.
The blender part of the Cuisinart Compact Blender & Juice Extractor Combo may contain a loose nut that may result in the blade detaching from the base during use, increasing the risk of the consumer coming into contact with the blade, posing an injury hazard.
Consumers should immediately stop using the blender part of the recalled product and contact Conair for a free replacement blade assembly. The consumer will receive instructions on how to install the replacement blade assembly after discarding the existing blade assembly and after verifying disposal of the existing blade assembly. The juice extractor is unaffected and may continue to be used.
The good news? As of November 11th, the company has not received any reports of incidents or injuries in Canada and no reports of incidents or injuries in the United States.
The company reported that 1,525 units of the affected product were sold in Canada and 66,020 units were sold in the United States.
The affected product can be identified by model number CBJ-450C and UPC 068459285874. The model number is printed on the label located on the bottom of the base and on the original packaging.
