
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has confirmed that a female victim has died following a stabbing that took place in Milton.
The stabbing happened on Tuesday, November 22nd at roughly 5:45 p.m. in the area of Farmstead Drive and Gosford Crescent in Milton. Officers found the female victim at the residence and she was rushed to hospital by emergency medical services. The victim has since been pronounced dead.
At roughly 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 23rd, HRPS officers located and arrested a suspect in Milton. 40-year-old Asad Rasheed of Milton was charged with second degree murder.
He has been remanded into custody pending a court appearance on Monday, November 28th.
Police are not looking for additional suspects and there is no related threat to public safety.
