We’re about to enter a cold stretch in Milton.
Environment Canada is forecasting sub-freezing lows this weekend, and next week’s highs aren’t looking too great either.
FM 101 Milton and Young Drivers of Canada (YD) have teamed up for a series of driving tips that range from weather changes to new interchanges on highways. Maria Bagdonas is the Education Manager with YD. She says now may be the time to get your vehicle ready for winter.
She also reminds motorists that this winter could be the first winter for a lot of young drivers. Learning to drive through the spring, summer, and fall have their advantages, but no one is ready for winter driving until you’ve experienced it. Even experienced drivers can mess up when the snow hits the pavement.
The general rule issued by experts is that drivers should always look to change their tires over to winter tires when the temperature has dropped below seven degrees Celsius for seven straight days. This is called the ‘seven-for-seven’ rule.
Stay tuned to hear more driving tips from Bagdonas and Young Drivers of Canada.
