A big cycling event is returning to Milton this December.
Ontario Cycling President and CEO Pam Julian says the Ontario Cup (OCup) will bring a weekend of fun races to our town. She’s also excited to see the young cyclists competing in the 2022-2023 Youth Track Development Series (YTDS).
As per the Ontario Cycling website:
The YTDS, sanctioned and governed by Ontario Cycling, consists of 4 separate racing opportunities, with different events at each one. The series is designed to optimize the development of our young athletes, through providing fun, non-traditional races. This allows the riders to focus on skills, speed, tactics, and personal bests, rather than competition and endurance.
The weekend races will also be used to collect donations for Food 4 Kids Halton. Julian says they wanted to give back to the community that has become a home to the organization.
The YTDS will run from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 10th. The OCup will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 11th.
All are welcome. The events are free and attendees are able to check out the velodrome during the event. Julian invites all to experience the thrill of watching live indoor cycling.
