The Milton Public Library is hosting its fifth annual Food for Fines Campaign.
The campaign is in celebration of Ontario Public Library Week and Canadian Library Month, and will run from October 16th-November 5th.
Food for Fines will support the Milton Community Resource Centre’s Infant Food Bank.
Donations will be accepted as payment for fine for overdue materials.
Here’s a list of items that are especially needed:
- Baby formula
- Baby cereals
- Baby/toddler snacks
- Baby food pouches
- Large size diapers 4, 5, 6
- Non-perishable food items
Donations can be brought to any of MPL’s three locations to help local families in need, in exchange for the waiving of fines on overdue library materials.
Here are the branching accepting donations:
- Main: 1010 Main Street East, Milton
- Sherwood: 6355 Main Street West, Milton
- Beaty: 945 Fourth Line, Milton
Residents will receive $10 off for baby formula, up to $10 off for diapers, and $1 off non-perishable items.
MCRC’s Infant Food Bank is the only of its kind in Halton, and it supports more than 100 babies per month.
Each month, more families are relying on their services. MPL is proud to continue to support this initiative this year, with the support of the community.
