The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, September 26th and Monday, October 3rd, there were at least 36 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A pair of assault cases on Ontario Street South on Monday, September 26th;
- a breaking and entering case on Main Street West on Monday, September 26th;
- a breaking and entering case on 5 Side Road on Monday, September 26th;
- a theft case on Maple Avenue on Monday, September 26th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Monday, September 26th;
- a theft case on Derry Road on Monday, September 26th;
- a breaking and entering case on Black Drive on Monday, September 26th;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Tuesday, September 27th;
- a theft case on Ontario Street South on Tuesday, September 27th;
- a theft case on Clarriage Court on Tuesday, September 27th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Day Terrace on Tuesday, September 27th;
- a breaking and entering case on Campbellville’s Main Street on Tuesday, September 27th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Martin Street on Wednesday, September 28th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Lawson Road on Wednesday, September 28th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Hinton Terrace on Wednesday, September 28th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Bessborough Drive on Wednesday, September 28th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Cedric Terrace on Wednesday, September 28th;
- a property crime case on McEachern Court on Wednesday, September 28th;
- a quality of life case on Martin Street on Thursday, September 29th;
- a pair of theft cases on Derry Road on Thursday, September 29th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Thursday, September 29th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Shortreed Crescent on Thursday, September 29th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Ontario Street North on Friday, September 30th;
- a quality of life case on Martin Street on Friday, September 30th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Martin Street on Friday, September 30th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Bronte Street South on Friday, September 30th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Friday, September 30th;
- a property crime case in the area of 10 Side Road and Regional Road 25 on Friday, September 30th;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Friday, September 30th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Friday, September 30th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Hill Street on Friday, September 30th;
- an assault case on Andrews Trail on Friday, September 30th;
- a theft case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Saturday, October 1st; and,
- a theft from vehicle case on Sauve Street on Sunday, October 2nd.
Of the 36 cases of crime, 24 were theft cases of some kind, four were assault cases, four were breaking and entering cases, two were property crime cases, and two were quality of life cases.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
