In commemoration of National Forest Week, which runs September 18 to 24, residents are invited to Celebrate our Roots.
The County of Simcoe is hosting — 100 Years of the Simcoe County Forest — at the Simcoe County Museum on Saturday September 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free event will feature admission to the Simcoe County Museum, a guided walk through the Museum Tract, forestry themed activities and a BBQ.
The Forestry Education area will formally be unveiled as the 2022 Forest Capital of Canada and will include a couple new interactive displays.
Donations to the local Food Bank is encouraged.
