The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, September 5th and Monday, September 12th, there were at least 21 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft from vehicle case on Main Street East on Monday, September 5th;
- a quality of life case on Steeles Avenue on Monday, September 5th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Lawson Road on Monday, September 5th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Trafalgar Road on Tuesday, September 6th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Tuesday, September 6th;
- a quality of life case on Lawson Road on Tuesday, September 6th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Durante Way on Tuesday, September 6th;
- a pair of theft of vehicle cases on Twiss Road in Campbellville on Tuesday, September 6th;
- a breaking and entering case on Twiss Road in Campbellville on Tuesday, September 6th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Lawson Road on Wednesday, September 7th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Wednesday, September 7th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Dockray Drive on Wednesday, September 7th;
- an assault case on Main Street East on Wednesday, September 7th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Bronte Street South on Wednesday, September 7th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Henry Crescent on Wednesday, September 7th;
- a robbery case on Ontario Street South on Thursday, September 8th;
- an assault case on Costigan Road on Friday, September 9th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, September 10th;
- an assault case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, September 10th; and,
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Sunday, September 11th.
Of the 21 cases of crime, 13 were theft cases of some kind, four were assault cases, two were quality of life cases, one was a breaking and entering case, and one was a robbery.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
