We have the latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police.
There were six cases across Halton last weekend. Two of them involved Milton:
On Friday, September 2nd, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Guelph Line and Campbellville Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 23-year-old Kitchener resident was charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.
On Saturday, September 3rd, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of English Rose Lane and Postridge Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 20-year-old Burlington man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, September 3rd, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Jocelyn Crescent and Moore Park Crescent in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, a 49-year-old Scarborough man was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
On Sunday, September 4th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Ontario Street and Hurd Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 45-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, September 4th, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Clark Boulevard and Ferguson Drive in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 29-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
On Monday, September 5th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Dundas Street East and Postridge Drive in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 36-year-old Oakville woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
