The Milton Public Library (MPL) head honcho has received an award courtesy of the Prime Minister!
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau popped by Milton last week to visit Conservation Halton’s newest park: Area 8. At the event, Milton Public Library’s Chief Librarian, Mark Williams was presented with the Queen’s Jubilee Pin for exceptional service and dedication to support the Milton community by Milton MP Adam van Koeverden.
“Having been invited to meet the Prime Minister on his recent visit to Milton was set to be the highlight of my day, nay year,” shares Williams. “But to have subsequently been awarded the Queen’s Jubilee pin for services to the community was not only a complete surprise but obviously an additional highlight, of the day. To say I was taken aback is an understatement and I am humbled and honoured to receive this award. My utmost and sincerest gratitude is extended to MPL Ambassador and federal Milton MP, Adam Van Koeverden for being such an advocate for everything we do.”
2022 marks the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 70th anniversary of her accession to the Throne. She is Canada’s longest reigning Sovereign and the first to celebrate a platinum jubilee. In celebration of this historic milestone, the Government of Canada has produced a limited-edition commemorative pin to be awarded as a certificate of recognition to exceptional community leaders.
