The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, August 8th and Monday, August 15th, there were at least 26 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft case on Ontario Street South on Monday, August 8th;
- an assault case on Randall Crescent on Monday, August 8th;
- a quality of life case in the area of Derry Road and James Snow Parkway on Monday, August 8th;
- a theft of vehicle case of Sixth Line Nassagaweya on Monday, August 8th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Maple Avenue on Tuesday, August 9th;
- a theft case on Caldwell Crescent on Tuesday, August 9th;
- an assault case in the area of Britannia Road and Regional Road 25 on Tuesday, August 9th;
- four theft from vehicle cases on Appleby Line on Tuesday, August 9th;
- a pair of break and enter cases on Appleby Line on Tuesday, August 9th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Whitney Terrace on Wednesday, August 10th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Etheridge Avenue on Wednesday, August 10th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Lawson Road on Thursday, August 11th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue near the Outlet Mall on Thursday, August 11th;
- a pair of theft from vehicle cases on Parkhill Drive on Friday, August 12th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Satok Crescent on Friday, August 12th;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Friday, August 12th;
- a property crime case on Martin Street on Saturday, August 13th;
- a breaking and entering case on Steeles Avenue East on Saturday, August 13th;
- a robbery case on Maple Avenue on Saturday, August 13th;
- a theft case on Ontario Street South on Sunday, August 14th;
- a property crime case in the area of Menefy Place and Ferguson Drive on Sunday, August 14th.
Of the 26 cases of crime, 17 were theft cases of some kind, three were breaking and entering cases, two were property crime cases, two were assault cases, one was a quality of life case, and one was a robbery.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
