The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, August 1st and Monday, August 8th, there were at least 22 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft of vehicle case on Laurier Avenue on Tuesday, August 2nd;
- a property crime case on Main Street East on Tuesday, August 2nd;
- an assault case on Fleming Drive on Tuesday, August 2nd;
- a theft case on Whitney Terrace on Tuesday, August 2nd;
- a theft case on Santa Maria Boulevard on Tuesday, August 2nd;
- an assault case on Leger Way on Tuesday, August 2nd;
- a property crime case on Harvest Drive on Wednesday, August 3rd;
- an assault case on Yukon Court on Wednesday, August 3rd;
- a theft of vehicle case on Auburn Road on Wednesday, August 3rd;
- a property crime case on Bronte Street South on Wednesday, August 3rd;
- an assault case on Santa Maria Boulevard on Thursday, August 4th;
- a breaking and entering case on Regional Road 25 on Thursday, August 4th;
- a theft of vehicle case on First Line Nassagaweya on Thursday, August 4th;
- a theft case on 3 Sideroad on Friday, August 5th;
- a breaking and entering case on First Line Nassagaweya on Friday, August 5th;
- a theft from vehicle case on First Line Nassagaweya on Friday, August 5th;
- a theft case on Peddie Road on Saturday, August 6th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue East on Saturday, August 6th;
- a property crime case on Main Street East on Sunday, August 7th;
- a theft case on Nakerville Crescent on Sunday, August 7th;
- a breaking and entering case on Bronte Street South on Sunday, August 7th; and,
- a property crime case on Derry Road on Sunday, August 7th.
Of the 22 cases of crime, ten were theft cases of some kind, five were property crime cases, four were assault cases, and three were breaking and entering cases.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
