The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, July 25th and Monday, August 1st, there were at least 33 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- An assault case on Main Street East on Monday, July 25th;
- a quality of life case on Martin Street on Monday, July 25th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Ontario Street North on Monday, July 25th;
- an assault case on Marks Street on Monday, July 25th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Tuesday, July 26th;
- a quality of life case on Steeles Avenue on Tuesday, July 26th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue near the Outlet Mall on Tuesday, July 26th;
- a quality of life case on Santa Maria Boulevard on Tuesday, July 26th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Chapman Crescent on Tuesday, July 26th;
- a property crime case on Steeles Avenue on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Birch Avenue on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a quality of life case on Cooke Crescent on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a theft case on Maple Avenue on Wednesday, July 27th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue near the Outlet Mall on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a property crime case on Megson Terrace on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Peddie Road on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a property crime case on Campbellville Road on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Main Street South in Campbellville on Wednesday, July 27th;
- a property crime case on Carr Landing on Thursday, July 28th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Main Street East on Thursday, July 28th;
- an assault case in the area of Anne Boulevard and Bell Street on Thursday, July 28th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue near the Outlet Mall on Thursday, July 28th;
- an assault case in the area of Court Street North and Main Street on Friday, July 29th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Lawson Road on Friday, July 29th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Friday, July 29th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Dixon Drive on Friday, July 29th;
- a property crime case on Cooper Avenue on Friday, July 29th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, July 30th;
- an assault case on Whitlock Avenue on Saturday, July 30th;
- a quality of life case on McNair Circle on Sunday, July 31st;
- a breaking and entering case on Derry Road on Sunday, July 31st; and,
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue near the Outlet Mall on Sunday, July 31st.
Of the 33 cases of crime, 15 were theft cases of some kind, seven were assault cases, five were property crime cases, five were quality of life cases, and one was a breaking and entering case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
