The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, June 27th and Monday, July 4th, there were at least 38 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- Four theft of vehicle cases on Main Street East on Monday, June 27th;
- a breaking and entering case on Regional Road 25 on Monday, June 27th;
- a property crime case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Monday, June 27th;
- a theft case on Regional Road 25 on Tuesday, June 28th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Tuesday, June 28th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Nipissing Road on Tuesday, June 28th;
- a breaking and entering case on Steeles Avenue East on Tuesday, June 28th;
- a theft case on Donnelly Street on Tuesday, June 28th;
- a theft case on Whitlock Avenue on Tuesday, June 28th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Main Street South in Campbellville on Tuesday, June 28th;
- a theft case on Crawford Crescent in Campbellville on Tuesday, June 28th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Wednesday, June 29th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Lawson Road on Wednesday, June 29th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Cedarbrae Avenue on Wednesday, June 29th;
- a theft case on Fifth Line on Wednesday, June 29th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Tupper Drive on Thursday, June 30th;
- a theft case on Esquesing Line on Thursday, June 30th;
- a theft of vehicle case on 5 Side Road on Thursday, June 30th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Leger Way on Thursday, June 30th;
- a property crime case at Derry Road and Scott Boulevard on Thursday, June 30th;
- a theft case on Farmstead Drive on Thursday, June 30th;
- a theft case on Nadlin Heights on Thursday, June 30th;
- a theft case on Laurier Avenue on Thursday, June 30th;
- a property crime case on McEachern Court on Friday, July 1st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Costigan Road on Friday, July 1st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Tupper Drive on Friday, July 1st;
- an assault case at Hugh Street and Sarah Street on Friday, July 1st;
- a property crime case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, July 2nd;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, July 2nd;
- a theft case at Bronte Street South and Derry Road on Saturday, July 2nd;
- a breaking and entering case on Peru Road on Saturday, July 2nd;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Sunday, July 3rd;
- a property crime case on Leitch Landing on Sunday, July 3rd;
- an assault case on Willmott Crescent on Sunday, July 3rd; and,
- an assault case on Yates Drive on Sunday, July 3rd.
Of the 38 cases of crime, 25 were theft cases of some kind, five were assault cases, five were property crime cases, and three were breaking and entering cases.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
