The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has arrested a group of suspects after looking into a series of reprogramming auto thefts.
The investigation began as a result of a traffic stop by HRPS officers. Through the investigation, multiple suspects were identified, as well as a business in Mississauga where two stolen vehicles from Oakville were located. A group of suspects identified were also believed to be staying at a hotel in Burlington.
Investigators attended the Mississauga business and arrested four suspects. Search warrants were executed at the business in Mississauga, as well as the Burlington hotel. Five additional suspects were arrested at the hotel.
As a result of the search warrants, the following items were seized:
- 2 stolen Lexus SUV’s
- 18 blank key fobs
- 2 master keys
- 1 Auto Propad Basic Key Programmer
- 2 fake driver’s licences
- $5100 USD currency
- $1450 CAD currency
- Multiple cell phones
- Various break and enter tools
The HRPS says names of the adults will not be shared in order to protect the identity of the multiple youth offenders who have been charged.

A 17-year-old male from Quebec has been charged with the following:
- Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 – Trafficking (3 counts)
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer System
- Possession of Break-In Instruments (3 counts)
- Possession of Automobile Master Key (2 counts)
A 16-year-old male from Quebec has been charged with the following:
- Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 – Trafficking (3 counts)
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer System
- Possession of Break-In Instruments (3 counts)
- Possession of Automobile Master Key (2 counts)
- Possession of Counterfeit Mark
An 18-year-old male from Quebec has been charged with the following:

A 19-year-old male from Quebec has been charged with the following:

- Possession of Break-In Instruments
An 18-year-old male from Quebec has been charged with the following:

- Possession of Break-In Instruments
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
A 17-year-old male from Quebec has been charged with the following:

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
An 18-year-old male form Quebec has been charged with the following:
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer System
- Possession of Break-In Instruments
- Breach Youth Probation
A 16-year-old female from Quebec has been charged with the following:
- Possession of Device to Obtain Computer System
- Possession of Break-In Instruments
- Breach Youth Probation
- Possession of Counterfeit Mark
All accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.
