We have the latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police.
There were nine cases across Halton on the weekend. One of them involved Milton:
On Friday, June 17th, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Appleby Line and Dryden Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 38-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
On Friday, June 17th, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Woodward Avenue and Cumberland Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 51-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, June 17th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Guelph Street and Sinclair Avenue in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, a 28-year-old Halton Hills man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Saturday, June 18th, Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Courtland Drive and Blairholm Avenue in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 28-year-old Toronto man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, June 18th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Cooke Boulevard and Masonry Court in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 23-year-old Hamilton man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Saturday, June 18th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Longfield Road and Mowbray Place in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, a 45-year-old Halton Hills man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, June 19th, Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Brant Street and The Queen Elizabeth Way in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 43-year-old Hamilton woman was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Sunday, June 19th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Plains Road East and Brant Street in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 36-year-old Thornhill man was charged with operation while impaired.
On Sunday, June 19th, Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of McNiven Road and Derry Road in Milton. As a result of an investigation, a 31-year-old Milton man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
