
The Darling Home for Kids will honour their dedicated Volunteer Team with an appreciation BBQ this Saturday (June 4th).
The event is from 12pm-3pm at 5657 15th Side Road, in Milton.
The non-profit children’s charitable organization provides professional and personalized hospice, respite and residential care for children with medical complexities and their families in Milton.
Volunteers serve as vital members of the local charity and help to provide the best programs and services possible.
The Darling Home for Kids (DHK) volunteers lend their expertise on boards or committees, assisting with fundraising, sharing their passion for cooking or gardening, supporting our administrative team, providing companionship to our children, and so much more.
This year’s honourees include:
- Michele Darling – 15 Years of Service
- Heidi Blackburn – 10 Years of Service
- Bryce Anger – 10 Years of Service
This year’s award recipients are:
- Craig Podrebarac – Award of Excellence – Community Leader
- Dell Technologies Canada – Volunteer Team of the Year
- Evelyn Vieira – Angel of the Year
- Brenda Speck – Big Heart Award
- Tegvir Grewal – Rising Star Award
- Annika Sharma – Youth Impact Award
- Bryan Simpson – Helping Hand Award
- Janna Ormond – 2022 Volunteer Halton Impact Award
In 2021-2022 DHK volunteers:
- Gave a collective total of 6,110 hours
- Helped us to reach The Embrace Campaign goal of raising $6.5M
- Provided over 515 hours of direct client and sibling engagement both in-person and via virtual platforms
- Planned and executed three fun and engaging family events
- Donated toys for our Holiday Party and items for staff care packages
