United Way Halton & Hamilton celebrated Show Your Local Love Day last week (May 18th).
The initiative brought together 85 volunteers from across the region to participate in dozens of projects to make a meaningful impact to local United Way-funded agencies.
Volunteers supported frontline agencies and individuals who have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
They were able to choose between in-person or virtual projects to share their strengths and abilities in support of these vital programs and agencies.
“As we lead the work to support people in rebuilding their lives, our gracious supporters are able to choose important projects to show their gratitude for the frontline staff at our partner agencies in Burlington, Halton Hills, Hamilton, Milton and Oakville,” says Brad Park, president and CEO of United Way Halton & Hamilton.
“Time and time again, this community takes the time to show its dedication. Thank you to all of the amazing volunteers who took the time to make this year’s Show Your Local Love Day another success,” says Park.
This year’s Show Your Local Love Day participants showed support by writing letters to seniors in the community and inspirational quotes to local youth, and packing care packages filled with baby essentials or menstrual hygiene products.
