The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, May 16th and Monday, May 23rd, there were at least 28 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A quality of life case on Chisholm Drive on Monday, May 16th;
- a theft from vehicle case on First Line Nassagaweya in Brookville on Monday, May 16th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Auburn Road on Monday, May 16th;
- an assault case on Main Street East on Tuesday, May 17th;
- a theft case on Derry Road on Wednesday, May 18th;
- a theft case on Sauve Street on Wednesday, May 18th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Bronte Street South on Wednesday, May 18th;
- a theft case on Whitlock Avenue on Wednesday, May 18th;
- three theft from vehicle cases on Main Street East on Thursday, May 19th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Millside Drive on Thursday, May 19th;
- a property crime case on Yates Drive on Thursday, May 19th;
- a property crime case at Laurier Avenue and Vanier Drive on Thursday, May 19th;
- an assault case on Yates Drive on Thursday, May 19th;
- a quality of life case on Martin Street on Friday, May 20th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Millside Drive on Friday, May 20th;
- an assault case in the area of Commercial Street and Main Street on Friday, May 20th;
- an assault case on Scott Boulevard on Friday, May 20th;
- a property crime case on Jessie Avenue in Campbellville on Friday, May 20th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Friday, May 20th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Ontario Street North on Saturday, May 21st;
- a property crime case on Peru Road on Saturday, May 21st;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Saturday, May 21st;
- a breaking and entering case on Steeles Avenue on Sunday, May 22nd;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Sunday, May 22nd;
- a theft case on Santa Maria Boulevard on Sunday, May 22nd; and,
- a theft case on Derry Road on Sunday, May 22nd.
Of the 28 cases of crime, 17 were theft cases of some kind, four were assault cases, four were property crime cases, two were quality of life cases, and one was a breaking and entering case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
