A new firehall is planned for Essa Township.
Fire Chief Doug Burgin says the municipality has acquired 3.5 acres of property in the central part of Angus to build on.
The new Station #2 will be located at 14 Huron Street, replacing the current structure.

Chief Burgin says while there is no timeline for the new building, when it is done it will provide quick access to all parts of Angus, which has grown in size in last number of years.
A sod-turning with dignitaries will be held Wednesday (may18) on the site of the new fire hall.
