The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, May 9th and Monday, May 16th, there were at least 27 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A property crime case on Martin Street on Monday, May 9th;
- a theft case on Ontario Street North on Monday, May 9th;
- a breaking and entering case on Esquesing Line on Monday, May 9th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Millside Drive on Tuesday, May 10th;
- a breaking and entering case on Bronte Street North on Tuesday, May 10th;
- a quality of life case on Childs Drive on Tuesday, May 10th;
- a theft of vehicle case at Highway and Guelph Line in Campbellville on Tuesday, May 10th;
- an assault case on Wheelabrator Way on Wednesday, May 11th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Wednesday, May 11th;
- an assault case on Bronte Street South on Wednesday, May 11th;
- an assault case on Savoline Boulevard on Wednesday, May 11th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Ontario Street North on Thursday, May 12th;
- an assault case on Ontario Street South on Thursday, May 12th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Thursday, May 12th;
- a quality of life case on Trafalgar Road on Thursday, May 12th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Farmstead Drive on Thursday, May 12th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Ontario Street North on Friday, May 13th;
- a pair of assault cases on Hampshire Way on Friday, May 13th;
- a theft at Pringle Avenue and Wettlaufer Terrace on Friday, May 13th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Trafalgar Road on Saturday, May 14th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, May 14th;
- an assault case on Santa Maria Boulevard on Saturday, May 14th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Fourth Line on Saturday, May 14th;
- a breaking and entering case on Etheridge Avenue on Sunday, May 15th;
- a property crime case on Bronte Street South on Sunday, May 15th; and,
- an assault case on Manley Lane on Sunday, May 15th.
Of the 27 cases of crime, 11 were theft cases of some kind, nine were assault cases, three were breaking and entering cases, two were property crime cases, and two were quality of life cases.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
