
The Region says it will move to a twice-a-week update system. This began Tuesday, May 10th. The updates will come Tuesday and Friday.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show an additional death in the totals. The death appears to be a Burlington resident, giving the city 129 deaths total. Oakville is at 104 deaths total. Halton Hills remains at 67 deaths total. Milton remains at 65 deaths total. Halton is now at 365 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 223 new cases since Tuesday’s update. The total number of cases is up to 49,166. There have been 1,258 total hospitalizations in Halton and 365 deaths.
In Milton, we had 59 new cases since Tuesday. That brings us to 13,217 total cases. There have been 296 total hospitalizations in Milton and 65 deaths.
There are two outbreaks in Milton:
- Congregate living facility known as ‘Congregate Living – 139’
- Martindale Gardens Retirement Home – Fourth Floor
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,322,831 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,176,972 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 65,702 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
- 103,922 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 106,865 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 68,810 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
- 80,334 total doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
- 93,588 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 100,560 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
- 105,623 total doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
- 106,371 total doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
- 101,611 total doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
- 91,411 total doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
- 79,346 total doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
- 74,631 total doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
- 59,007 total doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
- 84,876 total doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
- 174 total additional doses are pending.
The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 371,485 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 34,595 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
- 916,751 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
