The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, May 2nd and Monday, May 9th, there were at least 26 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft case on Main Street on Monday, May 2nd;
- a property crime case on Martin Street on Tuesday, May 3rd;
- an assault case on Scott Boulevard on Tuesday, May 3rd;
- a property crime case at Pringle Avenue and Tremaine Road on Tuesday, May 3rd;
- a theft of vehicle case on Savoline Boulevard on Tuesday, May 3rd;
- a property crime case on Steeles Avenue East on Wednesday, May 4th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Ontario Street South on Wednesday, May 4th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Oak Street on Wednesday, May 4th;
- a property crime case at James Snow Parkway North and Steeles Avenue on Wednesday, May 4th;
- a property crime case on Mansewood Trail on Wednesday, May 4th;
- a quality of life case at Steeles Avenue East and Thompson Road on Wednesday, May 4th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Parkhill Drive on Thursday, May 5th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Thursday, May 5th;
- an assault case on Ontario Street South on Thursday, May 5th;
- a property crime case on Martin Street on Friday, May 6th;
- an assault case on Highside Drive on Friday, May 6th;
- a theft case on Aird Court on Friday, May 6th;
- a robbery case at Bell Street and Heslop Road on Friday, May 6th;
- an assault case on Bronte Street South on Friday, May 6th;
- a breaking and entering case on Kelso Road on Friday, May 6th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Escarpment Way on Saturday, May 7th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Saturday, May 7th;
- a theft from vehicle case at 400 Block Highway and Trafalgar Road on Sunday, May 8th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Turner Drive on Sunday, May 8th; and,
- a pair of theft from vehicle case on Turner Drive on Sunday, May 8th.
Of the 26 cases of crime, 12 were theft cases of some kind, six were property crime cases, five were assault cases, one was a quality of life case, one was a breaking and entering case, and one was a robbery case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
