
The Region says it will move to a twice-a-week update system. This begins Tuesday, May 10th. The updates will come Tuesday and Thursday.
The latest COVID-19 stats from the Halton Region show an additional death in the totals. The death appears to be an Oakville resident, giving the town 103 deaths total. Burlington is at 128 deaths total. Halton Hills remains at 67 deaths total. Milton remains at 65 deaths total. Halton is now at 363 deaths total from COVID-19.
Across Halton, there are 145 new cases since Friday. The total number of cases is up to 48,866. There have been 1,250 total hospitalizations in Halton and 363 deaths.
In Milton, we had 30 new cases over the weekend. That brings us to 13,131 total cases. There have been 296 total hospitalizations in Milton and 65 deaths.
There are two outbreaks in Milton:
- Congregate living facility known as ‘Congregate Living – 139’
- Martindale Gardens Retirement Home – Fourth Floor
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,319,316 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,173,763 of the doses were to Halton residents.
Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:
- 65,676 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
- 103,871 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
- 106,812 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
- 68,776 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;

- 93,556 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
- 100,515 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;

The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 369,459 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 34,569 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
- 915,288 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
