Milton Menace take the ice, 2019
The Milton Menace find themselves down for the first time in this year’s OJHL Playoffs.
The North-West Conference Final began on Saturday with the Pickering Panthers taking on the Milton Menace.
Milton-native Ryan O’Donnell started the scoring off at the 2:27 mark in the first period, assisted by Aidan Hughes and Ryan Holmes. Pickering would score two quick goals to make it 2-1 after 20.
A third unanswered goal for Pickering was scored to start the second period. Hughes (assisted by Tyler Turpin) would score a goal of his to make it 3-2. The Panthers would add an insurance marker to make 4-2 after two periods of work.
A powerplay goal by Holden Rogers was not enough to make a difference as the Menace would collect their first playoff loss in franchise history, losing 4-3 to the Panthers.
Ryan Dugas recorded the loss for the Menace, stopping 30 of 34 shots.
The Menace are back on the ice on Monday night for game two of the five-game series. It’ll be at 7:30 p.m. at the Milton Memorial Arena. Get your ticketsĀ here.
