The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, April 4th and Monday, April 11th, there were at least 20 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- Four theft cases on Steeles Avenue East on Monday, April 4th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Steeles Avenue East on Monday, April 4th;
- a theft case on Scott Boulevard on Monday, April 4th;
- an assault case on Cartwright Crescent on Wednesday, April 6th;
- a theft from vehicle case at Gowling Terrace and Kearns Drive on Wednesday, April 6th;
- a quality of life case on Martin Street on Thursday, April 7th;
- an assault case on Ontario Street South on Thursday, April 7th;
- a robbery case on Derry Road on Thursday, April 7th;
- an assault case on Steeles Avenue on Thursday, April 7th;
- a theft case on Trafalgar Road on Friday, April 8th;
- two quality of life cases on Martin Street on Friday, April 8th;
- a breaking and entering case on Allan Crescent on Friday, April 8th;
- three property crime cases on Ferguson Drive on Friday, April 8th; and,
- a breaking and entering case on Holgate Crescent on Saturday, April 9th.
Of the 20 cases of crime, eight were theft cases of some kind, three assault cases, three quality of life cases, three property crime cases, two breaking and entering cases, and one robbery case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
