The best Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) Warrior Goaltender for the Month of March is a Menace.
Carter Tahk posted a league-leading 1.58 goals-against average with a .942 save percentage during the month, while going 6-3-0 for Milton. In 29 games this season, he has a 2.29 GAA – fifth best in the OJHL – a .921 save percentage and five shutouts.
The 21-year-old from Mississauga began his OJHL career with the Toronto Patriots in 2018-19. He played for the Menace the next season but was dealt to the Cobourg Cougars ahead of this season. He played eight games with Cobourg and another two in Wellington before returning to Milton to complete his final season of junior hockey.
Tahk played for the GTHL’s Markham Majors in his U16 season and the Meijer AAA organization in Michigan the next year.
He’ll be between the pipes for the Menace on Saturday night when they take on the Georgetown Raiders in the franchise’s first playoff game. It will be at the Milton Memorial Arena at 7:00 p.m.. Get your tickets here.
