Community Living North Halton has seen an increase in their online presence after receiving a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation last year.
Community Living North Halton (CLNH) received a $102,600 grant to help enhance their community awareness.
The project was completed this past February, and with the funding, the Milton organization was able to hire two social media specialists to their team, who increased their social media traffic and engagement and built virtual platforms to enable safe programming during the pandemic.
“I am proud that our government is supporting Community Living North Halton with an investment of $102,600 through the Resilient Communities Fund” said Parm Gill, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton. “This investment by the Ontario Trillium Foundation will enhance the agency’s ability to reach sponsors and community partners, which will help them to grow and continue to provide crucial supports to children and adults with developmental disabilities.”
In addition to the opportunity to raise public awareness about the work they do, CLNH has also been able to develop and implement online programming for the 600 people they support in the community.
“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be underestimated,” said Greg Edmiston, Executive Director for Community Living North Halton. “This grant has allowed us to stay connected with the people we support through virtual programming and events throughout the pandemic, and has also given us the opportunity to engage the broader community through social media and a greater online presence.”
OTF is an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations. Last year, nearly $112 million was invested into 1,384 community projects and partnerships to build healthy and vibrant communities and strengthen the impact of Ontario’s non-profit sector.
