Milton teens will have a chance to work on their writing skills.
The Milton Public Library will be holding a virtual event with local artist Diksha Narayan. Narayan is writing a book of short stories titled “Canadian Chai” chronicling life for Indian Canadians through childhood, adolescence and adulthood.
The writing program is designed for teens to learn about the process of writing a short story from another person’s experiences, including how to effectively interview story subjects, and accurately share their experiences in a short story.
To culminate this workshop, participants will write their own short stories, sharing their perspectives and experiences as teenagers in Milton, which will be used to inform a story in the upcoming book.
Participants will be eligible to earn volunteer hours for their participation in this workshop.
The event will be 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18th.
