The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, February 21st and Monday, February 28th, there were at least 17 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A robbery case on Derry Road on Monday, February 21st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Chandler Crescent on Monday, February 21st;
- an assault case on Kelso Road on Monday, February 21st;
- a pair of theft of vehicle cases on Steeles Avenue on Monday, February 21st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Guelph Line in Campbellville on Tuesday, February 22nd;
- a theft of vehicle case on Bronte Street South on Tuesday, February 22nd;
- a property crime case on Kennedy Circle on Tuesday, February 22nd;
- a theft case at Caverhill Crescent and Harwood Drive on Tuesday, February 22nd;
- a theft case on McGinnis Crescent on Wednesday, February 23rd;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Wednesday, February 23rd;
- a property crime case on Syndenham Lane on Thursday, February 24th;
- a theft case on Hazel Way on Thursday, February 24th;
- a pair of theft of vehicle cases on Steeles Avenue on Friday, February 25th;
- a property crime case at Highway 401 and Regional Road 25 on Saturday, February 26th; and,
- a property crime case on Main Street East on Sunday, February 27th.
Of the 17 cases of crime, 11 were theft cases of some kind, four were property crime cases, one was an assault case, and one was a robbery.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
