
Milton Menace take the ice, 2019
It was quite the weekend for the Milton Menace! The team managed to score ten goals across two games, while allowing zero.
The action started on Friday, February 25th with a game against the Aurora Tigers. Ethan Sims and Andrew Horsley led the way with four points each (Sims scoring two goals with two assists, Horsley scoring a hattrick and adding an assist). The Menace wound up winning 7-0. Carter Tahk stopped 19 shots for the donut.
They next played on Sunday, February 27th against the Georgetown Raiders. The Menace opened the scoring 16 minutes into the first with Holden Rogers potting the goal, assisted by Graydon White and Andrew Horsley. The first ended 1-0 for Milton.
The second period was scoreless, with Lucas Buzziol (Owen Forrester and Aidan Hughes) scoring seven minutes into the third. Captain Jordan Stock then added another goal, scoring 13 minutes into the final period (assisted by Ryan Holmes and Aidan Hughes).
The Menace won 3-0, with Tahk stopping 28 shots for the second shutout in three days.
Aiming for the franchise’s first playoff spot, Milton is 27-10-0-4 after 41 games, giving them 58 points on the season. They’re second in the West Division and fifth around the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
Milton plays the Markham Royals on Tuesday, March 1st at the Thompson Memorial Arena at 7:00 p.m..
