The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, February 14th, and Monday, February 21st there were at least 23 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft from vehicle case on Thompson Road on Monday, February 14th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Maple Avenue on Monday, February 14th;
- a theft case on Gazley Circle on Monday, February 14th;
- a breaking and entering case on Cedric Terrace on Monday, February 14th;
- an assault case on Kelso Road on Monday, February 14th;
- an assault case on Parkhill Drive on Tuesday, February 15th;
- a theft case on Guelph Line in Haltonville on Tuesday, February 15th;
- an assault case on Whaley Way on Wednesday, February 16th;
- a theft case on Laurier Avenue on Wednesday, February 16th;
- an assault case on Victoria Street on Wednesday, February 16th;
- an assault case at Derry Road and Thompson Road on Thursday, February 17th;
- a theft of vehicle case on McDowell Crescent on Thursday, February 17th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Friday, February 18th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Regional Road 25 on Friday, February 18th;
- a property crime case on Martin Street on Saturday, February 19th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Wilson Drive on Saturday, February 19th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Kingsway Place on Saturday, February 19th;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Saturday, February 19th;
- a breaking and entering case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, February 19th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, February 19th;
- an assault case on Fitzgerald Crescent on Saturday, February 19th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, February 19th; and,
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, February 19th.
Of the 23 cases of crime, 13 were theft cases of some kind, seven were assault cases, two were breaking and entering cases, and one was a property crime case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
