COVID-19: 70 new cases across Halton, 20 in Milton

For the first time in a while, there wasn’t a reported death across Halton.

The following note was issued by the Halton Region:

• Effective Friday, February 11, 2022, the Halton COVID-19 dashboard has been modernized to reflect the most meaningful and accurate data currently available. This includes the addition of information on third dose coverage, wastewater surveillance, revised monitoring indicators, and detailed trends over time including hospitalizations and deaths.
• The population estimates used to calculate vaccine coverage rates have also been updated to reflect the most recently available estimates. This will result in some initial shifts in vaccine coverage rates. For more information, please review the data notes below the dashboard.

Across Halton, there are 70 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 42,403. There have been 1,107 total hospitalizations in Halton.

In Milton, we had 20 new cases. That brings us to 11,866 total cases. There have been 273 total hospitalizations in Milton.

There are two active outbreaks in Milton:

• A congregate living facility labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 86’. It was first declared on December 23rd.
• A congregate living facility labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 118’. It was first declared on February 10th.

Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,236,961 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 1,097,488 of the doses were to Halton residents.

Here’s a breakdown on ages of those receiving doses:

• 54,248 total doses have been administered to people aged 5-11;
• 91,059 total doses have been administered to people aged 12-17;
• 103,777 total doses have been administered to people aged 18-24;
• 67,011 total doses have been administered to people aged 25-29;
• 78,175 total doses have been administered to people aged 30-34;
• 91,204 total doses have been administered to people aged 35-39;
• 98,196 total doses have been administered to people aged 40-44;
• 103,214 total doses have been administered to people aged 45-49;
• 104,341 total doses have been administered to people aged 50-54;
• 99,401 total doses have been administered to people aged 55-59;
• 84,151 total doses have been administered to people aged 60-64;
• 72,022 total doses have been administered to people aged 65-69;
• 65,891 total doses have been administered to people aged 70-74;
• 50,946 total doses have been administered to people aged 75-79;
• 73,180 total doses have been administered to people aged 80+; and,
• 145 total additional doses are pending.

The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:

• 339,655 total doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
• 30,981 total doses have been administered through other clinic settings;
• 866,325 total doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
