Stats Can released the results from the 2021 Census last week and New Tecumseth, far and away, had the fastest growth in South Simcoe and now has the highest population of the 5 municipalities.
The population was recorded at 43,948 which is an increase of 28.3% from 2016.
Bradford West Gwillimbury was next at 21.4% (42,880), then Innisfil at 18.% (43,326), followed by Essa Township at 9% (22,970) and then Adjala-Tosorontio at 0.1% (10,989).
Tottenham had the fastest growth of any settlement area in New Tec growing 77.2% (9,609).
Alliston saw 22% growth (23,253) but makes up 53% of the population of the town.
Beeton grew by 6.7% (4,151).
