The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, January 31st and Monday, February 7th, there were at least 17 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft from vehicle case on Maple Avenue on Monday, January 31st;
- a theft case on Sixth Line on Monday, January 31st;
- a property crime on Auburn Road on Monday, January 31st;
- a property crime case at Derry Road and Miller Way on Monday, January 31st;
- a property crime on Escarpment Way on Monday, January 31st;
- a theft case on Maple Avenue on Tuesday, February 1st;
- a theft case on Thompson Road on Tuesday, February 1st;
- a breaking and entering case on Hornby Road on Tuesday, February 1st;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Tuesday, February 1st;
- an assault case on Chretien Street on Tuesday, February 1st;
- a property crime on Nipissing Road on Wednesday, February 2nd;
- a theft of vehicle case on Norris Circle on Wednesday, February 2nd;
- a quality of life case on Martin Street on Thursday, February 3rd;
- a quality of life case near Highway 401 on Thursday, February 3rd;
- a theft case on Hawes Crescent on Thursday, February 3rd;
- a breaking and entering case on Holgate Crescent on Thursday, February 3rd; and,
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue on Thursday, February 3rd.
Of the 17 cases of crime, eight were theft cases of some kind, four were property crime cases, two were quality of life cases, two were breaking and entering cases, and one was an assault case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
