Talk about a double whammy.
The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) tweeted out that a driver was caught distracted driving on the QEW while in the carpool lane without any passengers.
The driver was fined $725 and was dinged nine demerit points.
“A reminder to all motorists to obey lane rules & put the phone down,” the HRPS ends the tweet.
