The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, January 24th and Monday, January 31st, there were at least 19 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A theft case on Harrop Drive on Monday, January 24th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Chisholm Drive on Monday, January 24th;
- a theft case on Ontario Street South on Monday, January 24th;
- a robbery case on Holly Avenue on Monday, January 24th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Sunnyvale Crescent on Monday, January 24th;
- an assault case on Prince Street on Tuesday, January 25th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Black Drive on Tuesday, January 25th;
- a theft of vehicle case on McFerran Crescent on Tuesday, January 25th;
- a theft from vehicle case on McFerran Crescent on Tuesday, January 25th;
- a property crime case on Cavanagh Lane on Tuesday, January 25th;
- an assault case on Market Drive on Wednesday, January 26th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Wednesday, January 26th;
- a theft case on James Snow Parkway on Wednesday, January 26th;
- a robbery on Laurier Avenue on Thursday, January 27th;
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Thursday, January 27th;
- a theft case on Connaught Terrace on Thursday, January 27th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Friday, January 28th;
- a property crime case on Childs Drive on Friday, January 28th; and,
- a theft case on Steeles Avenue on Saturday, January 29th.
Of the 19 cases of crime, 11 were theft cases of some kind, four were assault cases, two were robbery cases, and two were property crime cases.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
