The Town of Milton has received its quarterly payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) for hosting Elements Casino – Mohawk.
This third-quarter payment sees the Town receiving $2,000,691. Since August 1999, Milton has received more than $126.7 million in non-tax gaming revenue.
OLG makes payments to host communities under the Municipality Contribution Agreements, using a prescribed formula consistently applied across all sites in Ontario that is based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site or sites.
“We are happy that host gaming municipalities received payments this past quarter through Municipality Contribution Agreements,” says Parm Gill, Member of Provincial Parliament for Milton. “Once public safety restrictions are lifted again, land-based casinos will continue to play a vital role in the economic recovery of our communities.”
A portion of the money gets put into the Town of Milton Community Fund, which supports a wide range of community organizations and programs throughout Milton. Here are the latest recipients.
To date, host communities have received almost $1.8 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
