The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, January 10rd and Monday, January 17th, there were at least 21 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A robbery on Steeles Avenue on Monday, January 10th;
- an assault case on Martin Street on Monday, January 10th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Downes Jackson Heights on Monday, January 10th;
- a robbery case on Leger Way on Monday, January 10th;
- an assault case on Second Line Nassagaweya on Monday, January 10th;
- a theft case on Main Street East on Tuesday, January 11th;
- an assault case on Bronte Street South on Tuesday, January 11th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Cargill Path on Wednesday, January 12th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Ontario Street South on Wednesday, January 12th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Cedar Hedge Road on Wednesday, January 12th;
- a property crime case on Harrop Drive on Wednesday, January 12th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Steeles Avenue near the outlet mall on Wednesday, January 12th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Lawson Road on Thursday, January 13th;
- an assault case on Ontario Street South on Thursday, January 13th;
- a property crime case on Amos Drive on Friday, January 14th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Lawson Road on Friday, January 14th;
- a breaking and entering case on Laurier Avenue on Friday, January 14th;
- a property crime case in the area of Louis St. Laurent Avenue and Regional Road 25 on Friday, January 14th;
- a pair of theft of vehicle cases on Steeles Avenue near the outlet mall on Friday, January 15th; and,
- an assault case on Regional Road 25 on Saturday, January 15th.
Of the 21 cases of crime, ten were theft cases of some kind, five were assault cases, three were property crime cases, two were robberies, and one was a breaking and entering case.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
