We have the latest impaired driving report from the Halton Police.
There were eight cases across Halton last week. Two of them involved Milton:
On Friday, December 24th, just after 7:30 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Post Road and Dundas Street East in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 48-year-old Mississauga woman was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, December 24th, just before 11:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of North Service Road and Waterdown Road in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 26-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Friday, December 24th, just before 12:00 a.m., Halton Police officers responded to a collision in the area of Bronte Road and Lakeshore Road West in Oakville. As a result of an investigation, a 45-year-old Oakville man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Tuesday, December 28th, just before 1:30 a.m., Halton Police officers conducted an investigation in the area of Trudeau Drive and Clark Boulevard in Milton. As a result of this investigation, a 31-year-old Mississauga man was charged with operation while impaired and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
On Tuesday, December 28th, just before 4:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Walkers Line and Constable Henshaw Boulevard in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 52-year-old Burlington man was charged with operation while impaired and blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Tuesday, December 28th, just before 8:00 p.m., Halton Police officers responded to a citizen-initiated complaint in the area of Prince Charles Drive and Campbell Gate in Halton Hills. As a result of an investigation, a 50-year-old Milton woman was charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand.
On Wednesday, December 29th, just after 1:00 a.m., Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Upper Middle Road and Augustine Drive in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 30-year-old Hamilton man was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
On Thursday, December 30th, just after 2:00 a.m., Halton Police officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Corporate Drive and Appleby Line in Burlington. As a result of an investigation, a 32-year-old Burlington woman was charged with blood alcohol concentration 80mgs or more, within two hours.
Remember, driving under the influence is considered a crime in progress. Call 9-1-1 if you suspect that someone on the road is driving impaired.
Here are some signs of an impaired driver provided by the Halton Police:
- Driving unreasonably fast, slow or at an inconsistent speed;
- Drifting in and out of lanes;
- Tailgating and changing lanes frequently;
- Making exceptionally wide turns;
- Changing lanes or passing without sufficient clearance;
- Overshooting or stopping well before stop signs or stop lights;
- Disregarding signals and lights;
- Approaching signals or leaving intersections too quickly or slowly;
- Driving without headlights, failing to lower high beams or leaving turn signals on; and,
- Driving with windows open in cold or inclement weather.
The HRPS says that its officers remain committed to road safety through prevention, education, and enforcement initiatives.
