The crash happened back on the evening of Wednesday, September 1st. An HRPS officer was travelling on Steeles Avenue when his cruiser collided with another vehicle driven by a 19-year-old man. The man was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with a broken pelvis and a fractured ear.
The Director of the Special Investigations Unit, Joseph Martino, has found “no reasonable grounds” to believe the officer committed a criminal offence in connection with the man’s injury. According to Director Martino, there is no basis for proceeding with criminal charges in this case, and the file is closed.
