The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is reporting 188 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Simcoe in the last day (dec 29).

- 50 Bradford West Gwillimbury
- 23 Essa
- 45 Innisfil
- 56 New Tecumseth
35 of the cases are in people 17 years of age and under.
There were 575 confirmed cases in Simcoe County with 184 in Barrie.
There were another two cases in the health unit where the municipality was listed as pending
There are now 1057 active cases in South Simcoe, up 162 since Wednesday (dec 29) with 4 cases in hospital which is unchanged.
The health units newly reported cases may not contain complete information and information about hospitalization numbers may be delayed.
With kids aged 5-11 now eligible for vaccine, the health unit still shows 80% of residents of Simcoe Muskoka have had their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine with 75% fully vaccinate
