
The latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton have been released.
Across Halton, there are 417 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 25,875. With 22,739 resolved cases and 246 deaths, Halton is at 2890 active cases, 1160 more than Friday. The Region says that of the 25,875 total cases, 25,114 were confirmed positive while 761 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 63 new cases. That brings us to 7667 total cases. With 7062 resolved cases and 48 deaths, Milton is at 557 active cases, 283 more than Friday’s update. The Region says that of the 7667 total cases, 7402 were confirmed positive while 265 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is reporting variant case totals. It says that 10,637 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 3156 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared at a congregate living facility. It is labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 80’ on the Halton Region outbreak webpage. There are 97 cases being reported – 33 are non-Halton cases, 61 are residents, two are staff cases, and one unspecified. It was first declared on Thursday, November 4th.
An outbreak at a sports and fitness facility has been declared closed. It is listed as “Sports and Fitness – 12′ on the Halton Region webpage. It was first reported on Friday, December 17th. There were nine cases being reported. All nine were Halton cases. It was closed on Monday, December 27th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,036,971 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 925,360 of the doses were to Halton residents.
463,550 second doses have been administered in Halton. 412,399 of those have been Halton residents.
102,006 additional doses have been administered in Halton. 88,248 of those have been Halton residents.
