The latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton have been released.
Across Halton, there are 515 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 23,322. With 21,302 resolved cases and 246 deaths, Halton is at 1774 active cases, 331 more than Wednesday. The Region says that of the 23,322 total cases, 22,574 were confirmed positive while 748 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 112 new cases. That brings us to 7153 total cases. With 6750 resolved cases and 48 deaths, Milton is at 274 active cases, 81 more than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 7153 total cases, 6893 were confirmed positive while 260 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is reporting variant case totals. It says that 9212 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2867 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared at a congregate living facility. It is labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 80’ on the Halton Region outbreak webpage. There are 91 cases being reported – 31 are non-Halton cases, 57 are residents, two are staff cases, and one unspecified. It was first declared on Thursday, November 4th.
An outbreak has been declared at a sports and fitness facility. It is listed as “Sports and Fitness – 12′ on the Halton Region webpage. It was first reported on Friday, December 17th. There are eight cases being reported. All eight are Halton cases.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 1,020,432 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 912,126 of the doses were to Halton residents.
463,273 second doses have been administered in Halton. 412,302 of those have been Halton residents.
87,581 additional doses have been administered in Halton. 76,649 of those have been Halton residents.

- 13,907 first doses, 10,156 second doses and 6331 additional doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 369,442 first doses, 342,045 second doses and 37,290 additional doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
