With a number of robberies in Milton last week, many residents may be wondering about what to do if they find themselves facing one.
On the latest edition of ‘Ask a Cop’, Halton Police Constable and Media Relations Officer Ryan Anderson says employees experiencing a robbery should try their best to remain calm. He walks us through what someone experiencing a robbery can do to help with the following police investigation.

Any customers or clients in the business should also avoid confrontation. The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) does not want residents risking their lives over something replaceable. Constable Anderson says any witnesses should follow what the suspects are demanding (within reason) and if they can, stick around following the robbery to give officers more details to follow up on.
Another thing that employees and witnesses should keep in mind is fingerprints. Constable Anderson says you should avoid touching anything so that officers can try to find something that may have been touched by the suspects if they weren’t wearing gloves.
