The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) says that the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has charged one of their officers.
Constable David Ardrey is a 14-year member of the Halton Regional Police Service. He has been charged with one count of Sexual Assault and one count of Breach of Trust.
The charges are in relation to an incident that occurred in September.
Chief Tanner suspended the officer from active duty when the HRPS became aware of the incident. The SIU was also notified and they invoked their mandate.
As required by law at this time, the HRPS will no longer be providing details on this matter since it is now before the courts.
