The latest COVID-19 stats for Milton and Halton have been released.
Across Halton, there have been 171 new cases. The total number of cases is up to 21,456. With 20,601 resolved cases and 245 deaths, Halton is at 610 active cases, 120 more than Wednesday. The Region says that of the 21,456 total cases, 20,725 were confirmed positive while 731 were considered probable cases.
In Milton, we have 33 new cases. That brings us to 6790 total cases. With 6597 resolved cases and 47 deaths, Milton is at 146 active cases, 18 more than Wednesday’s update. The Region says that of the 6790 total cases, 6535 were confirmed positive while 255 were considered probable cases.
The Halton Region is reporting variant case totals. It says that 8266 total variant cases have been found in Halton. Milton has reportedly had 2689 total variant cases.
An outbreak has been declared at a congregate living facility. It is labelled only as ‘Congregate Living – 80’ on the Halton Region outbreak webpage. There are 88 cases being reported – 30 are non-Halton cases, 56 are residents, and two are staff cases. It was first declared on Thursday, November 4th.
Another outbreak has been declared at a Milton school. It is at Tarbiyah Elementary School on Ontario Street South. There are currently just two cases, the minimum required for an outbreak to be reported. Both are considered Halton cases. It was declared on Friday, December 10th.
The Halton Region has reported an outbreak at a second Milton school. This one is at Elementary School Catholic Saint-Nicolas on Woodward Avenue. There are currently four cases being reported – three Halton cases and one non-Halton case. It was declared on Tuesday, December 14th.
A fitness facility in Milton has reported an outbreak. It is listed as ‘Sports & Fitness – 10’ by the Halton Region. There are currently seven cases being reported, all of which are Halton cases. It was first declared on Tuesday, December 14th.
Looking at vaccination numbers, a total of 978,131 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Halton. 875,996 of the doses were to Halton residents.
462,399 second doses have been administered in Halton. 411,768 of those have been Halton residents.
52,553 additional doses have been administered in Halton. 46,732 of those have been Halton residents.

The following is where the vaccine doses have been administered:
- 85,786 first doses, 111,620 second doses and 24,713 additional doses have been administered through pharmacies and physicians’ offices;
- 13,896 first doses, 10,135 second doses and 6008 additional doses have been administered through the Halton Region Public Health and Paramedic Mobile Teams;
- 363,497 first doses, 340,644 second doses and 21,832 additional doses have been administered through community and hospital-based clinics.
