The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) has released the latest crime stats report, along with the CityProtect crime map.
The report and map each detail when and where reported crimes took place in Milton. Between Monday, December 6th and Monday, December 13th, there were at least 16 cases of crime took place. Here’s what we found:
- A breaking and entering case on Main Street East on Monday, December 6th;
- a theft case on Leger Way on Monday, December 6th;
- an assault case on Costigan Road on Monday, December 6th;
- an assault case on Whitlock Avenue on Tuesday, December 7th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Main Street East on Tuesday, December 7th;
- a quality of life case at Ontario Street South and Pearl Street on Wednesday, December 8th;
- an assault case on Leger Way on Wednesday, December 8th;
- a theft of vehicle case on Bussel Crescent on Thursday, December 9th;
- a quality of life case on Childs Drive on Thursday, December 9th;
- an assault case on Bennett Boulevard on Thursday, December 9th;
- an assault case on Williams Avenue on Friday, December 10th;
- a robbery case on Bronte Street South on Friday, December 10th;
- an assault case on Mockridge Terrace on Friday, December 10th;
- an assault case on Steeles Avenue East on Saturday, December 11th;
- a theft from vehicle case on Evans Terrace on Saturday, December 11th; and,
- a theft from vehicle case on Steeles Avenue East on Sunday, December 12th.
Of the 16 cases of crime, seven were assault cases, five were theft cases of some kind, one was a break and enter case, one was a quality of life case, and one was a robbery.
With the number of theft and theft from vehicle cases, we’ll recycle a message from the HRPS where it encourages residents to implement the following theft prevention tips:
- Ensure your unattended vehicle(s) are locked and secure;
- Never leave spare keys in your vehicle;
- Remove valuables from plain view; and,
- Equip your vehicle with an alarm.
