Last Wednesday (dec 1), the police had set up a RIDE program in the area of 20th Sideroad and the 9th Line in Innisfil.
When the officer walked up to the drivers window of one of the cars they had stopped he detected the odour of pot smoke.
While talking the driver, the man behind the wheel hit the gas and almost hit the cop.
Police did pursue the vehicle but called off the chase.
They eventually found the car, but not the driver.
They did find cocaine in the car, and a search of the home the car was found in front of turned up crack.
Police say at this point the investigation is still open and anyone with information is asked to contact South Simcoe Police or Crime Stoppers.
